Early Years Foundation Stage known as the EYFS

In September 2008 the Department For Schools, Children and Families introduced the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. This statutory framework aims to support children's learning, development and welfare from the age of 0 years until the end of reception class.

The overall aim of the Early Years Foundation Stage is to ‘help young children achieve the five every child matters outcomes of staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving positive well being.
