A typical day at Forest School
At 11.00am the Forest School group get ready to walk from the school hall to the Forest School area. The children walk from the village hall to the Forest School area with our 2 Forest School Leaders. We have access to use of toilets close by the Forest School area. This area is also used for Church Lench School so is a great introduction and provides links with further activities they will continue to do once they are at school.
Forest school follows the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum and activities are planned and offered for each session, but the most important part of Forest School is the children often set the agenda and self initiate the sessions.
Once a group are established in the Orchard and the rules are observed the children are free to explore.
We provide a warm (hot chocolate) or cold drink (water or juice) and parents are to provide a healthy snack,
by including an extra snack in their child’s lunch box, for a break during the session.
