Preparing for first school

Each Pre-School session generally follows the timetable shown in a typical day, with the exception, that during the term which follows Easter, the older children are structured to incorporate an introduction to start to prepare the children for First School.

We recognise that because of where they live, or parental choice, not all our Pre-School children will go on to attend Church Lench First School. However, all the older children attending do participate in visiting the Reception Classroom at Church Lench First School or listening to the Reception teacher who may visit the Pre-School. This gentle introduction to First School is a good social experience for the children, lasting approximately 30 minutes on each occasion and always supervised by Pre-School staff.
