A typical year at Pre-School |
 |
November to December
Theme(s): during winter term could be “Light and Dark”. An example of previous work is as follows:-
- We usually begin the term by reading Mother Goose or whichever Pantomime story our trip takes us to see
- We have made wall freeze's so that the children are familiar with the story and would be able to relate to the pantomime, making it a more enjoyable and rewarding trip. We have even had a wall freeze displayed at Evesham Libaray and a few children had their photo taken which was in our local newspaper - The Evesham Journal
- Exploring light and dark with a selection of objects and resources on a display table for the children to have hands on experience, looking at light, space, shape and form in three dimensions using the objects provided
- Creative painting for example firework pictures and provide opportunities to stimulate the children’s imagination in their paintings and drawings
- Bonfire Night – we talk about safety, help the children express opinions, for example “fire”, “burn”, “loud”, “noisy”, also their experience of seeing fireworks and bonfires
- This term we are usually very busy with “those Christmas surprises” and practising the nativity play.
